African American Literature
In this class we will study African American literature from its beginnings through the 21st century with respect to its historical context.
We will study a variety of texts including novels, plays, essays, poetry, and autobiographies.
You will be required not only read this text but to annalyze it and relate it back to your life. You will also be required to complete a number of projects that will enhance your understanding of African American contribution to literature.
